How to Cheat at Boxing: Skit 1 / Round 1: Draft 2

We start off with a news report titled “BREAKING NEWS” the Fight of the decades the U.S. vs The Soviet Union. (The news title will roll over the screen as the footage plays in the background from the fight).

The camera is showing footage from the fight happening with two weak-looking boxers who look scared and are hesitant to punch one another. As the fight is going the boxers circle the ring, we have the Referee in the background staying away from the fight as he fears the result, biting his nails and shivering.

As the footage of the news report is about to end, we spot the referee gets pulled out of the wring a strange-looking guy who looks like the referee takes his place. (At the same time the footage will cut as if someone deliberately took down the news report to make the referee replacement was not seen). This will be the end of skit 1 and the start of skit 2.

  1. Better but remember the restriction. Just 'TWO' characters (the boxers - we'll talk about the referee later). Therefore, all of the performance/comedy should come from those two. They ARE the joke. You can have a dark background (eg, the crowd in darkness) and have camera's flashing, binoculars popping up etc. A good way to think of this project is to think 'silent comedy'. For example, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, even the physical performance of Stan Laurel (not with audio). Does that make sense?
